Woonsocket Police seek your help

On Thursday 07/14/11 at about 7:52 p.m. Woonsocket Police officers were sent to the area of Florida Ave. and Robinson Street for shots fired. When officers arrived they noticed a blue 2004 BMW had backed into 597 Robinson Street.

The investigation revealed the 2004 BMW with two occupants was travelling northbound on Florida Ave.  While at the intersection of  Florida Ave. and Robinson St. a large white vehicle blocked their path. The driver of the white vehicle later identified as Justin R. Menard (w/m 5’11” tall and 25 years of age) exited the vehicle and brandished a handgun. Menard then started to shoot at the BMW. The BMW backed away from the gunfire and crashed into 597 Robinson Street.  Both occupants of the 2004 BMW sustained minor injuries. There were no injuries reported by the residents of 597 Robinson Street.   

The Woonsocket Police obtained an arrest warrant for Justin Menard for two felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. If seen please call the police at 401-766-1212 or our anonymous tip- line at401-769-4444.  

The Woonsocket Police Department is looking for your help to solve two cold case murders.  As of recently, the detective division has been reviewing these cases to familiarize themselves with the facts, establishing any viable leads, and reviewing or locating gaps of information in the case. In addition detectives are reviewing all physical evidence to see if this evidence can be processed and analyzed through modern technology.
